Mayadevi (77), wife of late Prof. N. Venkobarao and a resident of Jayalakshmipuram in city, passed away here this morning at a private hospital here following brief illness.

She leaves behind a son, a daughter and a host of relatives and friends. Her husband Prof. Venkobarao, Founder of the city’s Maithri School for Mentally Retarded Children, a former Professor of History at Banumaiah’s College and an RSS activist for decades, had predeceased her on Nov. 3, 2023.

Her body was kept at her residence for public viewing and the last rites will be conducted at Gokulam crematorium later this evening.
